# Custom cable assemblies, quoted in 24 hours.

Discrete, two-ended assemblies built to your drawing: cut, stripped, terminated and continuity-tested. Send a drawing, a cut list or a photo of the lead you are replacing — with Vernex as your single counterparty.

### Quote a custom cable assembly in 24 hours.
A drawing, a cut list, a wire schedule or a photo of the assembly you are replacing. Whatever you have is enough to start — if something is missing, we'll ask.

### Every process, component and test we can quote for a discrete assembly.
Capabilities across our partner network for two-ended work. Your project is matched to a manufacturer already qualified for the processes and standards it needs.

### Assembly
- Discrete two-ended construction — runs, jumpers, pigtails and flying leads
- Cut, strip and crimp-force monitored termination, 32–4 AWG
- Solder, tinned and pre-bonded lead ends
- Bootlace ferrules, ring, fork and blade terminals, crimped to the standard your drawing names
- Single-wire seals, grommets and IP67 sealed connector entries
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and braided sleeving over the run

### Components
- TE / AMP, Molex, JST, Harting, Phoenix Contact, Deutsch, Amphenol
- UL 1007 / 1015, silicone, PTFE, PUR and halogen-free jacketing
- M8 / M12 industrial circulars, IP67 sealed entries and cordsets
- Multi-core, shielded and screened cable with drain-wire terminations
- Obsolescence checks and drop-in alternates at quote time

### Test & documentation
- 100% continuity testing against your net list
- Hipot and insulation-resistance testing where specified
- Pull-force sampling per IPC/WHMA-A-620 class
- Lot traceability on wire, contacts and connectors
- First-article inspection reports and certificates on request

IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the industry standard for cable and wire harness assemblies. Certificates for your assigned manufacturer are available on request.

### Three families that quote as cable assemblies.
Different words on the enquiry, the same two-ended build underneath.

- **Power cords and line cords** — Moulded or rewireable plugs to the destination market's standard, an IEC coupler at the equipment end, and the jacket rating your enclosure asks for. Tell us the country and the current and the cord set is quoted with the rest.
- **Test lead assemblies** — Banana, crocodile, probe and shrouded 4 mm ends on silicone or PVC leads, in the colours and lengths your instrument set calls for. Low volumes are normal here and are quoted as readily as a series.
- **Solar and PV cable** — Double-insulated, UV- and ozone-rated PV wire with the connector family your string boxes already use, cut to the run lengths on your layout and labelled per string.

### FAQ

**What is the difference between a cable assembly and a wire harness?**

Shape. A cable assembly is discrete: two ends and the run between them. A harness is multi-branch — several legs and connector ends held in a fixed geometry, built over a layout board. If your drawing has breakouts, it is a harness; if it has two ends, you are on the right page.

**Can you build a single-ended lead — one connector and a cut end?**

Yes. Pigtails, flying leads and single-ended assemblies are quoted the same way. Say what the open end needs — stripped, tinned, ferruled or left cut — and it is priced with the rest.

**Are ferrules and seals fitted, or supplied loose?**

Fitted. Bootlace ferrules are crimped with a controlled die to whichever standard your drawing names — DIN 46228 where that is the one. Single-wire seals go on before the contact does, not pushed on afterwards. Loose parts are not a deliverable we quote.

**What length tolerance can you hold?**

Tell us the tolerance on the drawing and we confirm it at quote time. Where a drawing gives none, the assembly is cut to the manufacturer's standard for that length, and the figure is stated back to you in the quote.

**What is the smallest order you will quote?**

One piece. Prototypes, pilot batches and series go through the same intake, and there is no minimum on a quote either.

**Which tests are included?**

Continuity against your net list is the one to assume. Hipot and insulation-resistance testing, pull-force sampling to an IPC/WHMA-A-620 class, and first-article documentation are added where your order specifies them — name what you need on the enquiry and it is priced into the quote.

**Do you build small series and short runs — and how fast?**

Yes. A fixed price comes back within 24 hours of a complete spec; production starts from 10 days, and prototypes are usually faster. Small runs go through the same intake as series, with no minimum, and connector and wire availability is checked at quote time — so you know the lead time before you approve the price.

This page is discrete point-to-point work. Flat cable, coaxial and heavy-gauge builds each have their own page, because each asks a different set of questions before it can be priced.
