Vernex Cookie Notice

Version 1.0 — in force from 18 August 2026

This notice explains what we store on your device when you visit our websites, and how you control it. It covers vernex.com and partners.vernex.com.

Who we are, and how to reach us, is in our privacy notice — including our representative in the European Union.

1. What this covers

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use local storage, which works similarly. Everything in this notice applies to both, and to anything else that stores or reads information on your device.

2. What we use, and what needs your permission

We divide what we use into two groups. We ask your permission before anything in the second group is placed. Nothing in it is stored until you choose Accept.

Strictly necessary — no permission needed

These are needed for the site to work and for us to honour your own choices. They are used on the basis of § 25(2) TDDDG — the German act on data protection in telecommunications and digital services — and do not require consent.

Analytics — only with your permission

These help us understand which pages are used and how people find us. They are placed only if you choose Accept, and stop being used if you decline.

The analytics service is Google Analytics 4, provided to us by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Information collected may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. We rely on the safeguards described in section 7 of our privacy notice.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not use cookies to build profiles or to track you across other websites.

3. How you choose

When you first visit, we show a banner with Accept and Decline. Declining is as easy as accepting, and if you decline, nothing in the analytics group is placed.

The two sites ask separately. Your answer is stored in the browser for the site you gave it on, so accepting on vernex.com does not answer for partners.vernex.com, or the other way round.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies and local storage for our sites in your browser settings: the banner then returns, and you can answer again. You can also set your browser to refuse cookies generally. If you do, parts of the site may not work as intended.

4. Before you choose

Our analytics tool is loaded when the page loads, but is configured so that it stores nothing on your device until you accept. Until then it operates in a restricted mode, in which it sets no cookies and cannot recognise you on a later visit.

In that restricted mode it still contacts Google, and that request carries your IP address, as any request to any server does. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing identifies you.

5. Changes

We may update this notice. The version and its date are at the top. Where a change affects what we ask your permission for, we ask again.

6. Questions
