# Ribbon and flat cable assemblies, quoted in 24 hours.

Pitch, ways, orientation and the position of every connector on the run. Send the drawing or the part numbers off the assembly you are replacing, and a fixed price comes back — IDC or crimped, single or daisy-chained.

### Quote a ribbon or IDC assembly in 24 hours.
Pitch, way count, overall length and where each connector sits. A photo of the assembly you are replacing, with the connector part numbers legible, is enough to start.

### Every pitch, termination and test we can quote.
Capabilities across our partner network for flat cable. Your project is matched to a manufacturer already tooled for the pitch and the way count it needs.

### Assembly
- 1.27 / 2.00 / 2.54 mm pitch, grey and coloured-stripe ribbon
- The standard way counts — 10, 14, 20, 26, 34, 40, 50 and the rest
- IDC mass termination, or contact-by-contact crimping where the drawing calls for it
- Daisy-chained and bridged runs, connectors placed to your dimensions
- Twisted-pair ribbon — bonded pairs along the run, flat at the terminations
- Cable folding, strain-relief bars and polarising keys fitted

### Components
- IDC sockets, box headers, card-edge and DIP ends
- 3M, Amphenol, TE / AMP, Molex and Harting flat-cable families
- Grey, rainbow and coloured-stripe ribbon to the specification your drawing names
- Shielded and unshielded ribbon, 28 AWG stranded or solid conductors
- Obsolescence checks and drop-in alternates at quote time

### Test & documentation
- 100% continuity testing against your pin-out, way by way
- Pin-one orientation checked against the drawing
- Hipot and insulation-resistance testing where specified
- Lot traceability on cable and connectors
- First-article inspection reports and certificates on request

IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the industry standard for cable and wire harness assemblies. Certificates for your assigned manufacturer are available on request.

### FAQ

**Which pitches can you terminate?**

1.27, 2.00 and 2.54 mm are everyday work and are quoted without qualification. Anything else, send the drawing and we confirm at quote time whether the network is tooled for it.

**IDC or crimped — which do I need?**

IDC terminates every conductor at once through the insulation, and on a standard pitch it is the normal choice. Crimped contacts are used where the drawing calls for a connector with no IDC version, where conductors have to be split out of the ribbon, or where a higher retention force is specified. Say which the drawing specifies; if it doesn't, we'll ask.

**Can one run carry more than two connectors?**

Yes. Daisy-chained runs with intermediate connectors are standard work. Give us the dimension from datum to each connector and the orientation of each, and they are placed to the drawing.

**Do you build twisted-pair ribbon?**

Yes — ribbon with bonded twisted sections along the run and flat sections at the termination points. It is specified by the twisted length and the flat length; the cable's part number is usually enough for us to price it.

**What way counts do you cover?**

The standard counts across the common range are everyday work. An unusual count is a question of what the connector is available in rather than what the shop can do, so send the connector part number with the enquiry.

**How do you make sure pin 1 is where the drawing says?**

Orientation is checked against the drawing, and continuity is tested against your pin-out — not a generic one — so a mirrored connector fails the test before it leaves the building.

Not what you are holding? A round-jacketed lead, a coaxial run or a branched loom is a different build with a different set of inputs.
